How to Use Digital PR

The Digital PR tool allows you to see relevant journalist requests, write, and send pitches to the journalists in other to acquire high-quality backlinks from media websites such as the BBC, CNN, DailyMail, etc.

Step 1: Set Up Digital PR Project


  1. Navigate to "Link Building" in the top menu within the Konvart dashboard
  2. Click on Digital PR in the sidebar under the "Link Building" Section
  3. Click on + Set up new Digital PR
  4. Select up to three relevant categories. Your selected categories should be areas that are closely related to the industry or niche of your project/website
  5. Select your role. There are two options: Agency and Expert. Agency is for agencies that pitch on behalf of their clients, while Expert is for in-house SEOs who pitch on behalf of their employers. Nevertheless, if an agency pitches like an in-house SEO rather than a third-party, they can select "Expert"
  6. Select your project and notification frequency
  7. Click on the "Get Opportunities" button

Step 2: Set Up Email and Settings

If you want to email journalists directly from Konvart, ensure you have connected an email address to your Konvart account and Digital PR project. See this guide to connect your email to Konvart.

After connecting your email, you can go back to your Digital PR project, click on the three dots beside your project, then click on "Settings" to select the email address you want to use for that digital PR project

In settings, you can select your email address as a sender, your personality (so it is selected by default –See Step 4 below for what Personality is used for), time zone for email sending, and hours for sending emails.
Save your options before you close

Step 3: Review your opportunities

Click on "View" on your Digital PR screen to view the opportunities for that project.

  1. Valid requests = the total number of requests still valid for pitching on Konvart
  2. Total opportunities = the total number of valid requests that match your chosen categories
  3. Request reviewed = total number of opportunities for which you have written or generated a pitch
  4. Pitches sent = total number of opportunities for which you have sent a pitch.
On the digital PR home, you can also see the number of pitches you sent that reached the Journalist (did not bounce) in the "Prospects Reached" column


Back to your opportunities, you can click on "More" or "compose pitch" to view more details regarding an opportunity

Step 4: Compose a Pitch

You can compose pitches manually or with the help of AI
If you are to use AI, create a personality first.

A personality is the profile of the person you are pitching as. To create a personality, click on "Pitch as someone else"


Then, enter the personality's name, position, company, industry, and what the company does.

On saving this person, click on the "Compose with AI" button.

If you choose to compose manually, ensure you save your pitch by clicking on the "Save Pitch" button before you leave the page

Step 5: Contact the Journalist

Whether you write your email manually or use AI, you can send it through Konvart if the journalist has specified that they should be emailed. If they specified another contact method, you'll see a "Reach journalist" link to contact them.

If you are sending the email through Konvart, click "Send".
